She was urinating inside the bathroom when she saw something that looked like a big snake, crawling up the ceiling

Behold, it was a big Python.
The moment the snake saw her, it crawled with speed into the ceiling.

“Jesus!" That was the first thing that left her mouth.
She didn't wait to wear her clothes properly, she dashed out of the bathroom, screaming, "Snake o! Snake o! Snake o!”
Then her husband appeared from nowhere, panting, “I heard your shout… where's the snake?”
"I saw it… I saw it," she said, gasping for breath.
“You saw it where?" Mr Rufus questioned, feigning seriousness.
"I saw it running inside our roof… it's inside the ceiling as we speak."
Just then, they began hearing screams outside; shortly after, neighbours started banging on their door.
“Oga Rufus, make ona come open the door o, we don carry stick!”
"Mama Antonia, abeg come and open the door fast!"
At once, Esther ran and opened the door, and the neighbours stormed into the house.
Some were holding different sizes of long sticks and torchlights, while the others were with kerosene lamps, flashing everywhere.
In all of this, Mr Rufus didn't seem panicked at all. He just folded his arms and stared at everyone.
"Where is the snake? Let's k!ll it!” Two men asked simultaneously, pacing around with sticks.
"It's inside the ceiling!” Esther wailed in fear. "I saw it going up!”
"Then we need to look for it.” One of the men muttered, breathing heavily.
"In this community, it is against our tradition to spare serpents!” One woman said.
"Hmm… great abomination!” Another added.
"Mama Antonia, come show us where the snake enter, fast.” The first man said with his hoarse voice.
"That will not happen! Not in my house!” Mr Rufus who had been quiet suddenly said.
This got everyone by surprise, including his wife. The next thing that followed were hisses and murmurs.

"Listen, there's no snake in this house, okay?" He responded, in a commanding tone. “What you saw was just a product of your imagination."
When the neighbours heard this, they were taken aback by another episode of surprise, confusion and embarrassment.
“But if we find out you’re harboring a snake in your house, count yourself doomed.” The other man snapped. And with that, in a space of five minutes, they all left the house, leaving Rufus and Esther.
