The måd woman in our backyard is actually my husband's first wife, but every night, my husband sneaks out from our bed to the backyard to comb her hair into a plastic red bucket before returning back to the bed to sleep with me.
The first time it started, whenever he left the room through the back door, I thought he was going to do something else, I didn't think much of it.
If only I knew that måd woman that never left our backyard was his first wife… maybe I was just too foolish.
One night, I couldn't endure it anymore, I got fed up.
That particular night, we were both on the bed, and while I was trying to sweet-talk him into the mood to make me feel like a woman, he suddenly sprang up from the bed.
He slipped out from the duvet and jumped down. His facial expression was unreadable, but his body language was like that of someone who just remembered he had something very important to do.

I wasn't really surprised because he did that every night, and I was used to it already. But it was just difficult to ignore the hurt and neglect especially from the one man I loved so much.
“Mike,” I called, just before he opened the back-door.
At once, he halted and turned back, staring at me.
"Is there something you're not telling me?" I asked.
“something like what?" He asked back, arching his left brow.
"What is going on? Why do you always step out whenever I want you to… make me feel…?” I mumbled, trying to demonstrate with my hands.
I almost teared down again, but I held it back with all my might.
Then he left the door, and walked to me. He sat on the bed and pulled me closer to himself.
He began to caress my hair backward.

I loved the feeling, and Mike knew just how to do it. Sometimes I wondered how he managed to know almost all the things I liked.
“I want to quickly check something outside," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. “Don't worry, I won't take time, and once I get back, we'll do it… your best style…"
Michael knew my weak spots… believe me.
The moment he told me that, I didn't even know when I nodded. I foolishly agreed and allowed him to go.
Before now, whenever he said something like that, I'd just stay there and wait till he returned… most times, I ended up dozing off.
But that night, I did something different.
As soon as he went out of the room and shut the door, I slowly stood up.
I wore my nightgown properly before I reached for the door.
Slowly, I turned the knob, opened the door in a way it wouldn't make noise, and I stepped out.
